A Stained Glass Flower

August 11th, 2008

Well, it's moms Birthday - HAPPY 85th BIRTHDAY MOM.

Here is a Birthday card I made for the SCS Try a new technique challenge which you can find HERE. Challenge is to make a card with acetate and to use Glossy Accents and re-inkers to make the stained glass effect. Since I did not have re-inkers I decided to subsitute with Twinkling H2O.

Flower image was stamped on to acetate with Black StazOn Ink. After ink dried, colored in the back side of the acetate with glossy accents mized with Chestnut Brown, Summer Breeze and Golden Jade Twinkling H2O. Let this completely dry, then assemble the card together. Cut a rectangle only the DP from 'The Sasha Paper Collection' 3/4th" from all sides. Used double sided tape to adhere the acetate to the DP. Used another DP from the same Paper Collection for the back of the acetate. Added brads to the top corner. This was then glue to the white cs base of the card. Added ribbon all around the border of the window frame and used a rose ribbon to hide were the ribbon joined. Stamped Happy Birthday on the bottom right corner.

Stamps: Flower stamp from Magenta
Ink: Onyx Black Versafine, Black StazOn Ink, Chestnut Brown, Summer Breeze and Golden Jade Twinkling H2O
Paper: The Sasha Paper Collection and white cs
Accessories: Glossy Accents, rose ribbon, minty green ribbon, brads and acetate

  1. That came out really nice. Good idea to use the Twinkling H2O instead of the reinkers.
