One Layer Wonder Friendship

I know this card is a bit late coming for the Tuesday Crafty Secret Forum Challenge over at Splitcoast Stamper, but here it is anyways.

This week Marcy has challenged us to make a card using just one layer of paper.

For this card I used some stamps from the new Garden Girls stamp set of Crafty Secrets along with the grass portion of a stamp from the Fairyland stamp set, also of Crafty Secrets. Used the stamp images to create a garden scene. Images were colored with different Copic markers. And sky was done by using an oval scalloped nesty and sponging with sky blue just around the edges.

Hope you all have a good weekend.

Serenity Prayer

February 22, 2009

Here is a card made for Sunday's Featured Stamper Challenge over at Splitcoast Stampers. This weeks Featured Stampers is Jami (SgtStampers). So you just got to check out her gallery. Simply amazing. Here is the card I selected from her gallery.

I kept the colors and the layout the same. I changed the stamp set to Serenity Prayer from Crafty Secrets, used a Lasting Impression template, different Prima flowers and punched leaves and lastly, instead of brads for the centre of the flower I used half pearls. Sentiment was stamped on red cs with Versamark and then embossed with gold embossing powder. Used a Lasting Impression piercing template for the design on the edges of the white cs and then sprayed it with glimmer mist. Cut a rectangle in the middles with a rectangle Coluzzle and adhered the red cs with the stamped sentiment underneath. Prima flowers were then added, topped with half pearls and punched leaves.

Stamps: Serenity Prayer - Crafty Secrets
Ink: Versamark
Paper: Red and white cs
Accessories: Gold Glimmer Mist, Prima flowers, half pearls and Lasting Impressions piercing template

Layers underneath the main image was cut using the Storybook cartrige of Cricut including the Daisy border all around the red panel. Sentiment is also take from the Garden Girls stamp set. Applied some sponging on the different layers to give it a distressed look'

Crafty Secrets "Spring" Challenge

February 16, 2009

Once again our talented DT leader has challege all the Crafty Secrets DT members to make something using stamps or images for a card, layout ... altered project with a "Spring" or "Easter" theme.

For this wonderful challenge I covered a wooden bag from Michael's with paper from the Pastel Paper Designs of Crafty Secrets. I then got some green quilling paper that was 1/4" wide and used a fringer to cut strips through out the entire length of the paper. Used about 4 strips of quilling paper. This was glued to the bottom on the bag. Stamped the flower patch from the Bird Lover's Stamp Set 4x on white cs and colored in the images with various Copic markers. Cut the flower patch out and adhered the bottom portion underneath the green fringed paper all around the bag. Once that was done I used some stickers from Heatwarming Vintage sticker set -"Spring Joys". Covered the sides and edges of the handle with yellow paper frills from doodlebug and added some buttons around it. To finish off the Spring bag I added a yellow ribbon around the bag. For the inside of the bag I got several strips of yellow, green and purple quilling paper, run it through the paper crimper and tossed it inside the bag and added some Cadbury Mini Eggs.

Go check out the blogs of the other DT members. They have made some other "Spring" or "Easter"themed projects to share with you all.

Flower was colored a separate time and then added some clear liquid embossing and popped it up with double sided foam tape on top of the first flower. Used paper from the Fleuriste paper pad of Cosmo Cricket for the background. Distressed the edges with Walnut stain and a distressing tool. Added some dragon flies from the Kimono Silk stamp set of Hero arts, just behid the Geisha which was mounted onto a beige cs that was cut with the Labels 1 nesty. Used a scallop stitch on my sewing machine for the edges of the card. And finally added a cut-up flower and decorative brad on the corner of the background paper.

February 10, 2009

Darlene is hosting today's Crafty Secret Forum challenge and she has asked us to make something with the theme "Show Us Your Love". Thanks so much Darlene for this wonderful challenge to show LOVE.

I simply matted the image on red then white cs. Added a Lace Heart taken from the Quite Smitten collection of My Mind's Eye behind the main image and for the background DP I used a sheet from the Radiant Paper Design pad of Crafty Secrets. Tied a Gingham ribbon off to the right side of the card and topped it off with a red ribbon. For a final touch I added a heart pin from the Love Notes collection of Making Memories.

Love to You

Wow, it's been a while since I lasted posted a card to my blog. Today's card was made for the Featured Stampers challenge over at Splicoast Stampers. Featured Stamper is Karen and you can check her gallery out here.

Here is the card I selected from Karen's gallery to case.I kept the basic concept of the card design. Here are the changes that I made to the card:

* changed the orientation of the card* changed the heart
* changed the DP
* changed the sentiment

Heart from the Cherish stamp set of Crafty Secrets Clear Art Stamps was stamped onto white cs with Onyx Black Versafine and colored with Tombow markers. Cut the heart and then added some Sepia Liquid Embossing. While the embossing was drying I prepared the background of the card. Base of the card is DP from Basic Grey and this was layered on top with black cs and DP from the Classic Paper Designs of Crafty Secrets. Punch the reverse side of the DP from the Classic Paper Designs with a MS Lace border punch and stamped the sentiment from Stampendous. Green center strip of DP from my scraps was fan folded and distressed with Black Soot distressing ink. Tied a dotted ribbon around the card. The edges of the different layers of the card was all distressed with Black Soot Once the liquid embossing dries I matted the heart onto DP from Basic Grey and then black cs. Hand sewed all around the heart with pink thread.

Stamps: Cherish Crafty Secrets Clear Art Stamps, sentiment Stampendous
Paper: Classic Paper Designs Crefty Secrets and scrap DP from Basic Grey
Ink: Onyx Black Versafine and various Tombow markers
Accessories: ribbon, Sepia Liquid embossing, MS Lace border punch and thread
