Family - Crafty Secrets/Glimmer Mist March Mix

March 16, 2009

Wow, it is now the third week into the Crafty Secrets/Glimmer Mist March Mix. Today I have a project to share with you.

I made this frame, using Renaissance Alphabets & More Heartwarming Vintage Booklets. I cut the letters to spell FAMILY, distressed the edges with a distressing tool and then sponged it with Walnuts Stain and mounted it on to chipboard. The background paper is from the Classic Paper Designs pad that I sprayed with Tattered Rose, Coffee Shop and Vintage Pink Glimmer Mist. I distress the edges with a distressing tool and then sponged it with Walnut Stain. Then stamped some flourishes from the Flourishes stamp set with Walnut Stain. Added the work Family to the background paper and a stickers from Family Matters. Between the frame and the main image I added some Vintage lace. The whole background piece and frame was then sprayed with Irridescent Gold Glimmer Mist.
Dimension of the inside of the frame is 10"x5".

Do check out the blogs of the other ladies who are sharing some of their projects with you today.

Garden Birthday Wishes

February 19, 2009

This card was made for 2 challenges over at Splitcoast Stampers. Yesterday's Sketch Challenge and today's Way to Use It Challenge which is to use stripes in your project.

Image for this card is from the Garden Girls stamp set of Crafty Secrets Clear Art stamps. It was stamped on white cs with Tuxedo Black Memento ink and then colored with Copic markers. This was then matted onto purple cs and sprayed with Iridescent Gold Glimmer Mist. Edges of the matting were then dotted with an opaque white signo pen. Background paper is from the Princess Paper Pad of Marcella K. Sentiment is from the same Garden Girls stamp set. Before attaching the image to the card, I sprayed the background with Purple Pansy Glimmer Mist. All the purple matting was dotted with the signo pen. For the finishing touch to this card, I added a crocheted flower with a button and some purple thread.

Stamp: Garden Girls - Crafty Secrets Clear Art Stamps
