Girlfriends

September 2, 2008

Can't believe it has been several days since I last shared a card in my blog. Went away camping for the long weekend. I just had to do something before the summer was over. Spent 2 days in Watcom Lake in Washington. This was my first time to camp out of Canada and we sure had a lot of fun. Wish the weather were warmer though.

For today's post I am sharing a card that was made for the Tuesday challenge over at the Crafty Secret Forum at Splitcoast Stampers. Today's theme for the challenge is Friendships/Girlfriends with a bit of Glitter. For this card I selected an image from the Joys of Life Heartwarming Vintage Booklet from Crafty Secrets. Image is a picture of 4 girls sharing their secrets to one another. Image was distressed around the edges with a Making Memory distressing tool, then sponged some Walnut stain on the edges. Put a little glitter with a Spica pen in the dresses in the image. This was then mounted on cs that was sponged with Oasis Green VersaMagic and Walnut stain. Background DP is from the Radiant Paper Designs of Crafty Secrets. cut a little piece around the flower to insert the main image panel. I also added Lemon Ice Stickles to the flower on the DP. Edges of the dp was distressed with the distressing tool and then sponged with walnut stain. This was then mounted on to the card that was sponged with Oasis Green and walnut stain. Stamped the words Girlfriends by curving the clear $ stamp from Michael's to matched the curve on the DP. For the finishing touches to the card I added ribbon, Prima Flowers and some punched fern leaves. Added some more glitter to the words, fern leaves and flowers with a Spica pen.

Stamps: Girlfriends clear $ stamp from Michael's
Paper: Radiant Paper Designs and image from the Joys of Life from Crafty Secrets
Ink: Walnut stain, Oasis Green and Jumbo Java VersaMagic
Accessories: Ribbon, Prima Flowers, punched ferns, Designer brad from BasicGrey, Clear Spica pen, Lemon Ice Stickles and distressing tool
