Crafty Secrets Design Team Challenge and a Give-a-way

October 30, 2009

It is time for another Crafty Secrets DT challenge organized once more by out Team leader, Vicki Chrisman. Today's challenge is to create a "Bird" themed project.

In addition to this challenge, it is my turn for the $30 Gift Certificate draw that Sandy, owner of Crafty Secrets, is giving away to one lucky winner. Very simple, you just have to leave me a comment on my blog together with a little blurb on what Crafty Secrets product you have used in any of your projects. I give you up to the stroke of midnight on Halloween eve to leave your comment and I will then select one lucky winner.

Now on to the project I will share with you today. For my "bird" theme, I used 3 adorable images available in the "Birds and Blossoms" Creative Scraps. There are actually 22 adorable images to create with. I also used a frame from the Square Sweet Chips chipboard, which is also from Crafty Secrets.

First of all I covered 2 frames with a DP from the Pastel Paper Designs and 2 images that I placed back to back between the 2 frames. I then used a Clear Star Metallic Sakura pen to add some glitter to the bird and flowers in the image. All around the edges of the first piece, I added some Diamond Dust and Crystal Snow together with some Prima flowers that were sprayed with Pearl Glimmer Mist. Added a flower button to the Prima. For the other side I used the other 2 images, one for the inside of the frame and another that I cut out as accent piece to go hand in hand with the "bird" theme. I also used some pearl pebble embelishments on the frame. Now to hang the frame I stringed some pearly white and blue beads and attached it between the frames.

I sure hope that you enjoyed viewing the project I shared with you today. Please visit the rest of our Design Team members individual blogs and most especially the Heartwarming Vintage blog which has another surprise give-a-way. All the links to these blogs I have conveniently listed below for you.

Christmas Creative Scraps

October 13, 2009

Not too long ago Crafty Secrets Heartwarming Vintage came out with 2 new sets of Creative Scraps. Today I am posting 3 cards using the Christmas Creative Scraps. These are so easy and quick to use. In this sheet you get to play with 22 cute and adorable Christmas themed images. Once you get a hold of this you will want to get more.

For the first card, I used one of the Snowman images and mounted it on a die cut Fleurdelis Pendant die from Spellbinders. On the image and die cut I added some glitter snow. Sentiment is taken from the Snow Bunnies stamp set. Again I used one of the die cut from the Fleurdelis Pendant die set and also the Ribbon Tag Trio for my sentiment. Background paper is from Daisy D's.

For the second card, I used the Merry Christmas image and placed it underneath a die cut from the Curved Rectangles. I simply placed 2 different sizes together when I die cut it. Back ground paper is from Basic Grey. Used some ornament shaped brads and ribbon to finish off the card.

My last card uses the image of the 3 adorable kids on a snowy day. To make it realistics I covered the image with some Crystal Snow glitter. Background was made using several snowflake die cuts also from Spellbinders and I topped each of the snowflakes with more Crystal Snow and Diamond dust. White card base was distressed with Prussian Blue Chalk inkpad. Sentiment is from the lastest stamp set released by Crafty Secrets entitled Season's Greetings. Added some transparent Dew Drops on the sentiment panel.

Crafty Secrets World Card Making Day Splitcoast Challenge

October 3, 2009

Today is Work Card Making Day and our Crafty Secrets DT leader, Vicki Chrisman is hosting a challenge over at Splitcoast Stampers. Go check it out and also the Heartwarming Vintage Blog as someone lucky can get a chance to win.

I have created a card for this special day and challenge. Stamped images are from the just released Seasons Greeting Stamp set of Crafty Secrets. Santa image was first stamped on white cs and colored with Copic markers. Used some white fun flock to add texture to the cuffs in Santa's suit. I stamped the image once more on red cs and embossed it with Black powder. Cut the Santa circle out and popped it on top of the red ornate circle. Diamond snowflakes were stamped 5 times on red cs and embossed with white powder and cut out. Background paper is from the Wassail paper pad of Basic Grey. Red strips were punched with a MS border punch. Used some Making Memories Holly leaves and brads to finish off the card.

I sure hope everyone is enjoying their weekend and this special World Card Making Day.
