Home Sweet Home

March 24, 2009

Home Sweet Home is were I long to be. Here is a card made using a stamp from the Home Sweet Home stamp set of Crafty Secrets Clear Art Stamps.

Image was stamped on white cs with Tuxedo Black Memento and colored with various Copic markers. Then cut and mounted onto a white cs (colored with Teracotta Touch marker) cut with the scalloped circle nestabilities. This was then matted onto a brown cs that was also cut with another size of a circle scallop nesty. Then used 2 different sizes of the Labels 1 nesty to cut out the frame around the main image. Cut out 4 frames with the Labels 1, colored it with Terracota and Rose Beige Touch markers then sprayed it with Coffee Shop and Irridescent Gold Glimmer Mist then assembled it together for the frame. Sentiment was stamped onto DP from the Earthy Design Paper pad and distressed with Walnut Stain. Background Paper is also from the Earthy Paper Pad. Used a corner stamp from the Serenity Prayer stamp set for the corners around the main image. Added some blue half pearls from Kaiser for an added touch to the card.

The background paper is from the Classic Paper Designs pad that I sprayed with Tattered Rose, Coffee Shop and Vintage Pink Glimmer Mist. I distress the edges with a distressing tool and then sponged it with Walnut Stain. Then stamped some flourishes from the Flourishes stamp set with Walnut Stain. Added the work Family to the background paper and a stickers from Family Matters. Between the frame and the main image I added some Vintage lace. The whole background piece and frame was then sprayed with Irridescent Gold Glimmer Mist.

Friend

March 15, 2009

Before I post my card for today, I just want to say that I have not forgotten any of you. If I have not been posting any comments lately it is because I am having a very difficult time posting anything. For whatever reason, my interenet connection has slowed down to turtle pace. This inspite of Shaw upgrading my service to a higher speed connection. It took me 45 minutes just to upload my card today at Splitcoast Stampers. Not sure if this is computer problems or internet connection problems. Once, I get this fixed I promise to comment on those lovely cards and projects.

Card I am posting today is for the Featured Stampers Challenge over at Splitcoast Stampers. Today's featured stamper is Stacy (TWINSHAPPY). Congratulations Stacy, amazing gallery.

Here is the card I selected from Stacy's gallery to case today.

Girl image from the Garden Girls stamp set of Crafty Secrets Clear Art Stamps was stamped on white cs with Tuxedo Black Memento ink and then colored with various Copic markers. It was then die cut with the Labels 1 nestabilities from Spellbinders. This was then matted onto the reverse side of the BG paper - Garden Medallions from Chater Box. Used a peach Copic marker on the edge of the matting and dotted it with a white Signo Pen. Followed the layout of the card I cased, however, I changed it to a square. Flowers were made with the same BG paper using the front and the back to make the different layers of the flowers which was die but with a flower nestability. Added some Walnut Stains to the edges of the flower and then distressed each layer of the flower with a distressing tool to give it a curve. Layered the flower and added a half pearl to each of the centers and then sprayed it with Vintage Pink Glimmer Mist. Stamped the Sentiment on a reverse side of the BG paper with Onyx Black Versafine, cut it in the shape of a ribbon, distressed the edges with Walnut Stain and then distressed the sentiment with a distressing tool. Used a half pearl to place it down on the card. Added some pearls to 2 edges of the card.

Birthday Garden

March 1, 2009

Here is a card for today Featured Stampers Challenge over at Splitcoast Stampers. Today's featured stamper is Kelly. What an amazing gallery. Congratulations Kelly.

For this challenge I selected this card from Kelly's galery.

I kept the way the main image was matted as that is what drew me to this card. I used Solidago Sprig from Rubber Stampede as my main image. Colored the stamp with a peach and green Tombow markers and huffed and stamped it onto white cs. This was trimmed and corners were punched with an inverted corner punch. Then matted onto peach, white, peach cs. Background paper is from Wild Asparagus - Baby Girls Dots and Sassafras Lass -Aye Aye. On the center joint I cut a strip of DP from Making Memories - Flower Patch. Tied a green ribbon around the main panel image. Punched some flowers from the BG DP and placed it on the bottom right corner of the card. Added some ferns from a MS punch and then topped each flower with liquid pearls. Sentiment is from the Garden Girls stamp set of Crafty Secrets which was stamped on the peach DP with Onyx Black Versafine and matted the same way as the main panel. On top of the sentiment is another flower punch, topped with liquid pearl and added ferns to each side of the flower.
