Forever in My Heart

February 25, 2008

This card started as an ATC collage for Valentines. Then I used it for today's "Try a new Technique Challenge" - I'm all Mixed up in Splitcoaststampers. I really like the way the card turned out. For the ATC, I used Fancy Pants stamps - Bella Brush. Stamp pads are Black, Fire Brick Distressing Ink, a little of Broken China, Lightning Black and Pearlescent Poppy. Heart was die cut with Sizzlits Primitive Heart and painted with Worn Lipstick crackle paint, topped with Fire Brick distressing ink then stamped in black with Anna Griffin's "The Netherlands". I glossed it with Liquid Embossing. Paper used for the card was from Cloud9 Love U Dots and Daisy D's Moda farics. Saying "Forever in My Heart" is a rub-on from OTM.

Katie

February 23, 2008

It's been a long time since I last did a layout. I tend to make more cards then layouts. Anyway, today I spent the time to concentrate on a layout for my 3rd child, Katie. This is her 10th grade school picture. She is growing up so fast as you can see in the picture.

For this layout I used Kelly Panacci's Totally You, Totally Wrods and Marooned Daisies. The K is from Making Memories. a, t, i, e was cut with the Xyron machine using the Special Edition 3 book. The flowers were cut by hand and some by punch and then it was topped with Liquid Embossing. Frame is by Technique Tuesday and painted with Crackle Paint.

Back Home

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY TO YOU ALL!

Well, 4 weeks of Vacation is now gone. I got back from the Philippines last Friday, February 8th. It was really hard to say my goodbye's to my mom. I just hope that I will be able to see her again next year when I can take another vacation. For now, all my vacation is done for 2008. I am really glad that I made this trip home. It really meant so much to me to be able to spend the time with mom.

As you can see in my earlier post, I was busy making crocheted flowers. The small one is really simple to do and I plan to make some layouts using these flowers.

I also ironed out the Chrysanthenum that I made and I think that it really looks much better this way.

Now for Valentines day. Since I got back from the Philippines, I have not had much time to sit and play with my scrapbooking supplies. So last nite, I quickly put together a Valentine Mailbox for my family. The mailbox is from Target and the paper that I used is Bo Bunny's 'a gift of love'. Inside the mailbox I put some Hershey's Hugs and Kisses.

Keeping Busy

February 3, 2008

It has been 3 weeks that I have been here in the Philippines visiting my mom. I cannot believe the time has gone by so quickly. I only have 5 more days left and I go back home. I do not want Friday to come yet as I am not ready to go home. I still want to spend more time with my mom.

I do miss my family back in Canada and I sure hope that they miss me too. It is so hard to want to be in two places at the same time. Oh well.

I have not been scrapbooking for three weeks now. No supplies. My hands were itching to do something, so I have been crocheting instead. I first started with a small doily, then I found another design that I liked and started doing it without looking how big it was. I just jumped right in an started following the instructions. One week went by and I was only half way done. Just had to finished this doily. So I worked hard on it and low and behold, I have finally finished it. It looks really beautiful.

I have also made some crocheted flowers. I plan to use then in future scrapbooking projects.

Anyway, till my next post, take care all.
